Most of the Middle Eastern pics served also as postcards, and Dad wrote frequently when he first arrived in Palestine. There may have been letters, but if so, they have not survived, however, the back of each photo usually had a message from him to Mum and Margaret, no matter how brief.
This was ‘hidden treasure’ for me, so the back of each photo was also photographed and appears alongside its corresponding image.
