MEDALS

Dad's Medals are treasured by us, and our brother Alan has taken good care of them over the years.  When the original ribbons became worn, he had them replaced, and he often wore them proudly in ANZAC day parades after Dad passed away.

The image shows 5 medals, front and back.

Looking at the top row showing the front of the medals, they are from left to right:

  1. The 1939-1945 Star
  2. The Pacific Star
  3. The Defence Medal
  4. The War Medal 1939-1945
  5. The Australian Service Medal 1939-1945

Medals worn by LAA servicemen also included the Africa Star, but Dad did not serve in this arena.  See the next column for a description of each medal.
